Team Topic

My team and I are going to talk about two topics. Our two topics are Integrity and Augmented Reality. In our group we have one person that is out of the country. He is in Australia. It will be interesting working with someone that is out of the country because our time is not the same. So we  might get all of our work done while it might be night time for him. It will be hard working like that but that is one of the reasons why we are doing this project. To work with others without being able to see and talk face to face with them. One good way to discribe Integrity in the Don Tapscott's Grown Up is being able to get true information off the web and being able to share that truthful information. One way to discribe Augmented Reality is being able to get information off of your phone, computers, ipods, and other electrical devices. It will be interesting to be able to work with others that arent in my school and I have never seen or talked to. As of right now I am happy with the group and the topics that I have.

Teachers changing the way they teach

I believe that the teachers are teaching the way that they learned. The new generation has changed. The way that the teachers went though school is not the way that the new generation should go though school. The new generation is now using computers a lot more. We also want to participate instead of just sitting in the classroom all day. The kids going though school today will find a way to use a computer on their work. Since the kids will still find a way they should teach better ways that we can use the computers. They should still be teaching how to get up and give a speech first because we will still have to do that in the future, but they will need to know how to use the computers in the future. The way the teachers were taught was going in the classroom and doing paper work all day. That is not the way that the new generation want to be taught. They don't school to be so stressful. When students get paperwork and it takes them all night, that's when it gets really stressful. Teachers need to change to the way that the students are not just the way that they are.

Net Gen Norms

There are eight characteristics in the Net Gen Norms. The eight are freedom, customization, security, integrity, collaboration, entertainment, speed, and innovation. Freedom is about being able to do what you want when you want without having someone tell you how to do it. Customization is about being able to change whatever you want on anything. Even if you don't change it you still are able to. Security is saying that the information on it might not be true and people should know what is fact and fiction. Integrity says that Net Gen cares about honesty and they can use social networks such and facebook to find the truth. Collaboration says that it helps companies by letting people help them make better things. Entertainment lets Net Geners play online games while at work to lower their stress levels. Speed is saying that it Net Geners expect to get a fast response. They want a flow of information, so that people can get information. Innovation is saying that they are are always making bigger and better things. This chapter is tell us all about the Net Gen. Almost everything about Net Gen can be labeled in one of these characteristics. It is good that they show how they are working on Net Gen all the time.

Importance of meeting deadlines in business and education

It is very important to meet deadlines in business and education. When you have to do something and it must be done by a date you need to have it done by that date. It is very important to teach people to make deadlines early. Most businesses now will not hire someone who does not make deadlines. It is very important to them because they also have deadlines that they must follow. If you do not get it in on time then they wont get it in on time. They try to teach this in school now because it is so important in business now.They give you projects that you must have done by a date. In most cases if you do not get it done by that date then they will only give you half credit or something like that. Some teachers will take a number of points off for each day that you do not have it done. This teaches how important and how it can really hurt you if you do not get your work done. It also really shows what type of worker you are if you do not get you work done on time. It is one of the most important thing that you can do as a worker.

Criticism and Netiquette

Accepting criticism to your blogs is a very helpful thing. It is a good way to see what other people think about what you have. A lot of times the person who is doing the criticism finds something that you can inprove on or add in. When you are giving criticism you need to use netiquette. Netiquette is being professional about what you do and say. You should never use slang, bad words, and copyright something. Some things that you should do while talking on the web is be brief, stay on topic, and respect what other people have to say. If someone give you their email address DO NOT publicize it. You should know what you are talking about but if you have an opinion on something you can but be respectful about it. Plus you should always ecknowledge what other people have to say. You arent always going to agree about what they have to say but dont bring them down about it. You can say your opinion on the topic. If someone makes a comment your your project you should think about what they are trying to tell you and if you fell you need to change something go back and change it.

Wiki

Wiki is a great communicating tool. You are able to work on a page or a project with someone else. You cant be working on it at the same exact time, but you can work on it at different times. This makes it very easy to work on something together with someone because you don't have to be at the same place and at the same computer with someone. This is great for business because a lot of businesses are world wide. So they are able to work on projects and papers together without have to travel all around the world. Wiki is also a way to spread information to people around the world. It gives people the chance to put their opinion and information on things. This also gives schools the way to work with each other. It makes the students work with people that they dont know. That is great because that is how a lot of things work in the business world. The business world now is all about technology. Students are going to have .to use these new programs to be able to make in after school. Wiki is a great communication tool for them to have experience in. Wiki makes busnisses run a lot smoother.

Facebook

The digital communication tool that im using is Facebook. A lot of businesses use Facebook for advertisment. Every time a business puts out a message everyone who likes that business will get it. A lot of businesses put out special deals on facebook. Most of them just give you like five to fifty percent off. This brings a lot of business in. I like Realtree camoflage. They post things on facebook all the time. They have put a special deal on hunting land and great hunting trips. They were great deals and if i had the money I would have put in for them. You can also like movies and television shows. If someone saw that many of their friends like a movie then im sure that they might go out and get that movie. Same with television shows. If they saw that a lot of people like a show then they might watch it. It is also helpful for the people. It lets them get their word out on things that they like and dislike. If they are treated bad at a place then they can post something and let the owners know about how they were treated. I think facebook is very useful to businesses today.

Diigo

Diggo can be used for many things. It is used alot by students that have to use computers and the web. It helps students by being able to take a picture of the web page. That protects them just in case the web page would be shut down or taken off the web some how. It also lets you make a note on the web page to where other people are able to see it and make comments on it. This lets you see other peoples opinoins on that subject. This helps alot of businesses by letting them see if people are interested in things that is on the web. More and more people are starting to use Diigo because it is a great way to communicate and share ideas on things.

Digital Communication

Digital Communication can be a good or a bad thing. It can be a good thing because people are able to express who they are a lot more. There are many social networking tools that let people show who they are and let them get their word in. A tool like facebook is a great way to communicate digitally. People post what they are thinking or just something that they wanted to say to someone. This can also be a bad thing because some people say things that give to much information about themselves. Some people in this world do get on these things just to find out things about people, such as where they are, and who they a with. Some things about social networking are very scary and aren't right. Even thought there are some things wrong about digital communicating, there are a lot of good things about it. It is just going to get better as time goes on .The number of bad things will start getting lower as technology gets better.
